Radio has been my teacher, my comfort blanket, my companion on long journeys to gigs and my anchor when I'm far from home. It has acted like a barometer for my musical life, from taping the top 40 on a Sunday evening to obsessively listening to the Proms. It even can read you a bedtime story. I can't imagine my life without it.
